Purpose: The Barcelona Provincila Council has generated, on the one hand, the orthophotography of 1956 for the whole province of Barcelona from the original photograms provided by the Ministry of Defense and, on the other hand, in agreement with the Center for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF), the 1956 Land Cover Map of the province of Barcelona. This Land Cover Map shows the distribution of the main land covers (forest, agricultural, urban) in the reference year and allows the analysis of their evolution up to the present day.
